Lot of greats. I remember buying that Shadows album, (on CD), to my father for Christmas.
@odd my turntable broke down about 10 years ago and I was in between places so this was my first time being able to play this specific record this morning!
My record player broke down in 1988(!), and I have just recently bought a new one, but would you believe it, it doesn’t work either! I think I yanked the power cord to hard when putting it together. Will have to replace it.
@odd aww man, sorry to hear this! Do you know if you need to change the entire turntable or just need another cable?
Highly recommend the affordable “Pro-Jeft Essentials III” (we got the one with the pre-amp, to plug it easily into our existing connected speaker)
I think it’s only the power supply cord that’s broken, so if I can, I’ll fix it myself, or get a new one. But I’ll have to check if it is indeed the power that’s missing. I have a multimeter (somewhere), so when I find it, it shouldn’t be a problem. 😅
A turntable is on my shopping list… together with records to play on it. I don’t mind admitting that it’s mainly cause it looks cool
@derekpeden there is something really nice about that #slowliving experience tbh — a record and a book and you can enjoy a calm hour with coffee (in the morning) or an (alcohol-based) drink of your choice (later in the day)
@derekpeden We bought ours during Spring Lockdown #1 and haven’t regretted it!

Looks great. Reminds me I’ve had to convince my parents not to throw away their vinyl.
