Paterson

Last month, I went to see Jim Jarmusch’s latest film, Paterson. Here’s what I wrote at the time:

Paterson drives a bus,

in Paterson, New Jersey.

He writes poetry and lives a simple life,

Seeing the world go by around him.

However, a more recent article completely changed my perspective on the movie:

Paterson offers a subtle, artful take on the aftereffects of war on American veterans

“It’s one of the best films yet about how the country forgot its recent wars — and those who fought them.”

I really liked this movie. But Vox’s piece has completely changed my understanding and appreciation towards it.
