This week’s update to the record collection! (I’m waiting for a final shipment next week, and then we’re good for the winter!):
My wife made the insightful observation that we don’t have enough female artists. Trying to improve on that front with some of our faves!

Made it into Fontaines D.C.’s DOPAMINE CHAMBER listening party at my local record store, Ground Zero! Got there 15mn early and the line was already around the block. I had to wait an hour for the first group session to be over before making it with the second group: 60-70 of us packed in a record store, goodies bag in hand 🖤💙💜
The album itself is different beast: more reverb, more synths, almost dystopian at times. But the poetry is all there — it’s a love record about the kind of love that feels right but makes you worse. If Romance was stadium joy to scream out loud, Dopamine Chamber is the comedown 👀 (and yes, Dopamine Chamber = D.C. as a nice call back since it originally stands for Dublin City 😏)
Standouts: the 80s noir of Mimesis, the heavy break on Happy for You 🤘, and Where Is Gone? with ROSALÍA — full Bond ballad energy.
Left with a tote, poster, postcards, sticker and a zine on the making of the album. I can’t wait to listen to the album again when it drops (and I pick up my order at Ground Zero) and later attend the concert in November! 🎸

The show started with the AWGE Paris Fashion Week runway show (Rocky’s fashion label), which they ran at the arena a few hours before the show.
Then the concert started and turned the whole thing upside down.
A$AP Rocky was never the most skilled rapper, but he has always been one of the more creative artists in his scene. The man knows how to put up a show!
I’ll forever regret not being able to attend a Mac Miller concert.
Mac —as well as Prince— is an artist that left us before I got the chance to see them perform live.
If you can afford it, definitely go see your favorite artists. Human connection is all we got!

Incredible mail day: the 15th-anniversary reissue of my favorite My Chemical Romance album "Danger Days: (The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys)" has landed at home — I was able to snag the Zoetrope edition!
The right balance between a truly special edition without being a 200€ box-set!
Considering notifications/enshittification/social media/smartphone addiction, this isn’t half-bad of an idea. “The friction” being the point, part of the experience, is an interesting factor.
Made me want to unearth my OG 110GB iPod Classic — only I couldn’t quite find it this evening. Something fun to play with once I’m able to get my hands on it!
The Weeknd is playing 3 nights at Stade de France and my window is open and we can hear the gig tonight! It’s quite cool!
Same happened previous summers with Beyonce or AC/DC!

A wonderful night for the #TomMisch concert last night at La Cigale!
Followed, obviously by a late-night smash burger at my favorite rock joint in town: Numéro 10!
Earlier this week: saw Angel Du$t live in a small underground club, close to home! 🤘 🎸

Genuinely their second best, after Demon Days and ahead of Plastic Beach. This one completes the trilogy beautifully and I can’t wait to get my hands on that collectible yellow Vinyl!

Fantastic time at the Clipse show last night!
Was supposed to see Pusha-T live a few years back but gig got cancelled, so extremely happy to have seen him in my hometown.
Given that Pharrell Williams is now the Creative Director at Louis Vuitton in Paris and that they recorded the album in the offices, I was low-key hoping for a Pharrell appearance. And not only did he show up, he also came on stage for the very last song!
Been a huge fan since @hernameisbanks was putting out her first EPs.
Glad to finally see her live — and what a show too:
a great voice live, great choreography/dancing, lights show, in an intimate venue known for its historical significance in the Parisian cultural scene!
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of D’Angelo!
There’s rarely been such an influential artist who’s been as influential as he was reclusive especially with 3 albums over 20 years. (Maybe Jeff Buckley comes to mind…)
Turnstile was already an all-time Baltimore band. This year, though? The city’s veteran hardcore quintet was transcendent, reaching levels of rarified air reserved for acts that do more than simply release a great album — they shift culture.
